Kavinder takes stock of activities at Sanat Nagar, Rangreth Industrial Estates

SRINAGAR, MAY 30 – Deputy Chief Minister, Kavinder Gupta accompanied by senior functionaries of Industries & Commerce Department today paid maiden visit to Industrial Estates, Sanat Nagar and Rangreth and took stock of the activities of various industrial units functioning there.

The Deputy Chief Minister went around various units at both these estates and evinced keen interest in their functioning vis-à-vis production, quality and status of facilities like availability of power, drinking water, road connectivity. He also interacted with the owners of various industrial units and received feedback of facilities and activities of their units.

At Rangreth, the Members of Industrial Estate Association apprised the Deputy Chief Minister about the problems being faced by them and called for improving the existing infrastructural facilities like electricity, road connectivity, drains, sanitation, healthcare and other related facilities for the workers. They also demanded a suitable piece of land for establishing the office of the Association within the industrial estate.

While interacting with the industrialists, the Deputy Chief Minister said that Government is fully committed to further promote the industries in the Jammu and Kashmir and all out efforts will be made to create better infrastructural facilities and conducive atmosphere so that more people can set up their ventures.

He said Government is aware of the problems of industrialists, especially those of small scale industries, and every possible effort will be made for the growth of this important sector which is immensely contributing for boosting the economy and employment generation in the State.

He called upon them to focus on quality control and develop the spirit of competitiveness for sustenance in the market. He said today’s consumer is more conscience about the quality and price, therefore, all have to make efforts to come up to the expectations of the consumers, the Dy Chief Minister observed.

Gupta also directed the MD, SICOP to maintain close coordination with the industrialists and addressing their basic issues on priority basis.
