Naat collection of Ashiq Adeed released

Sopore: Famed Sufi Poet Ashiq Adeeb’s sixth book was released today at a function held at Amargarh Sopore.  The book entitled ‘ARMAGHAN-E-MADINA’ comprises of more than one hundred Naats.

The function was attended by prominent poets, scholars and spiritual personalities from different areas of the valley. The podium was shared by prominent writers and thinkers. Famed poet, researcher and broadcaster Satish Vimal, presided over the function while as Dr Mohammad Ashraf Gazi, Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem, and Bashir Chirag along with poet Ashiq Adeeb also were part of presidium.

Dr Ghulam Nabi Haleem and Mirwaiz North Kashmir Maulana Ghulam Hassan Firdausi presented their views on the Naat collection. Dr Haleem is the editor of the book. Famed singer Assad Anjum recited some Naats written by the poet.

In his presidential address Satish Vimal said that Ashiq Adeeb’s poetry is not the poetry of intellect only but that of the heart which connects the present with our glorious spiritual past. He said that such poetry finds its place in the hearts of the common people and inspires generations to refresh their devotion and recharge their hearts.

A Natia Mushaira was held on the occasion in which poets presented their naat-compositions. Mushaira was presided over by Shahbaz Hakbari. The programme was anchored by Eff Azaad.
