Jammu, May 25: Five persons, including a child, were killed and 8 others injured when their vehicle hit a parapet and turned turtle on the Jammu -Pathankot highway in Samba district today.
“At 0200 hours, an Innova vehicle on its way from Jammu towards Punjab hit the parapet and turned turtle at Tapyal on the highway,” a police officer said.
In the mishap, five persons were killed and eight others injured, he said. The deceased included three women and an infant.
The deceased hailed from Gurdaspur in Punjab.
Expressing shock and grief over the death of five persons in the road accident, Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti has conveyed her sympathies to the families of those killed and prayed for their eternal solace, an official press release said.
