Srinagar: To curb menace of drug abuse and to sensitise the budding youth of Gurez Valley about how to prevent themselves from such menace, a lecture on “Drug De-Addiction” was organised by the Army at Kanzalwan Village (Gurez) on Thursday, May 17.
A defense spokesman in a statement said that aim of this campaign was to create awareness amongst the youth about drug de-addiction, health issues, hygiene and stress free living. During the lecture, the hazards of drug addiction and its aftermath were conveyed to the participants.
Moreover, social effects and psychological impacts on an individual’s health were also discussed during the lecture.
The spokesman said that the lecture was highly appreciated by the locals and similar kind of awareness events in the future are being desired from the Army by the locals so that all possible measures can be taken to keep the menace at bay from the society.
