Pak mans eyes gouged out by father, brothers

Karachi, May 15: A Pakistani mans eyes were gouged out allegedly by his father and brothers after he insisted on marrying a girl of his choice in Baluchistan province.

Police said that the victim, Abdul Baqi wanted to marry a girl but his family was against the marriage because the girl used a cellphone.

Detailing his ordeal, Baqi, who has been admitted in a hospital, alleged, “They (father and brothers) locked my mother in another room and tied me up with a rope. Then they gouged my eyes out with a spoon and chopped them to pieces with a knife.?

He further said, “I liked a girl. My father and brothers were not happy with my choice. They often used to tell me that they will never allow me to marry a girl who keeps chatting on the mobile phone with me.”

Police have arrested the victim’s father and two brothers.
