WPL: Ganderbal Gladiators win by 9 wickets, Sultan Warriors by eight wickets

TARZOVA: In the ongoing Wular Premier League (WPL), today’s first match was played between Safapora blues and Ganderbal Gladiators. GG won the toss and opted to ball first.

The decision to bowl first proved a favorable decision for GG as they managed to all out Safapora Blues at a very low total of 52 runs which is so far the third lowest score of the Tournament.

Only 1 batsman of SB, Mohammad Yousf, who scored 13 runs managed to cross the double figure.

For Ganderbal, Ubaid Amin took 4 wickets, while as Ajaz took 3 wickets.

In reply, Ganderbal Gladiators chased the set target of 52 runs in 4.5 overs for the loss of 1 wicket.  Sayim played a quick knock of 48 runs in 17 balls and thereby GG won by 9 wickets.

For Blue Star Safapora Sajad took 1 wicket, Ubaid Amin was declared Man of the match for his excellent bowling spell as he took 4 wickets that included a hat-trick.

In the second match of the WPL, Blue star Safapora faced sultan Warriors.  Blue Star Safapora won the toss and opted to bat first. After losing wickets at regular intervals, Ishfaq stood well in middle order as he scored 45* runs, besides Hussain contributed 20 valuable runs and managed to score 124 runs.

For sultan worriers Hilal took 5 wickets.

In reply, Sultan Warriors won by 8 wickets. Arshid scored a quick knock of 45 runs, besides Aqib contributed 31 runs.

SW won comfortably and thereby throwing Blue Star Safapora out of the competition.

For Safapora Ishfaq took 2 wickets Hilal was declared man of the match for his splendid bowling spell he took 5 wickets.
