Jammu, May 10: An ex-serviceman allegedly stabbed his wife to death before committing suicide by hanging himself from a tree in Makhanpur village here, the police said today.
Kuldeep Singh (55) attacked his wife, Balvinder Kaur, with a sharp-edged weapon yesterday following a heated argument with her over some issue, they said.
Singh locked his son and daughter-in-law in a room before attacking his wife and fled soon after, the police said.
Kaur was rushed to the GMC hospital by her son and neighbours, where she was declared brought dead, they said.
Singh’s body was later found hanging from a tree on the outskirts of the village, they said.
The bodies were handed over to the family after postmortem and an investigation is underway, the police added.
