Baramulla/Kathua, May 09: Two persons died in two separate road accidents in Dangiwacha Rafiabad and Khanpora areas of north Kashmir’s Baramulla district on Wednesday.

Reports said 30-year-old Rafiq Malla, son of Abdul Rehman Malla of Batpora Fidarpor,a died  after falling down from a mini-bus (JK05B-9273) at Yarbugh Dangiwacha in Rafiabad.

Meanwhile, a swift car (JK05D-7543) crushed one Shakir Ahmed Malla, son of Mushtaq Ahmed Malla, at Khanpora Baramulla.

Malla was taken to a hospital where he succumbed to injuries. Police have registered a case in this regard.

In another accident, an infant was killed and three of family injured when their vehicle skidded off the road in north Kashmir’s Bandipora district.

As per police officials, the car skidded off the road at Chuirtangoo after its driver lost control over it and fell into a gorge.

They said in the incident three of a family were injured who were later hospitalised, while their three-year-old daughter died on way to the hospital.

The injured were identified as Aijaz Ahmad Mir, his wife Shahzada and their daughter Rani from Safapora Ganderbal.

Meanwhile, two people were killed and five others injured after a truck today rammed into people sitting at a bus stop on Jammu-Pathankot highway in Kathua district, police said.

According to the police, people were waiting for a bus at Chandwan ‘morh’ (curve) on the highway when a truck came and hit them.

The two labourers, identified as Mahabir and Manoj, were killed on the spot, while the five seriously injured were rushed to a nearby Sub Division Hospital (SDH), Hiranagar.

The injured, after the preliminary treatment, were referred to the GMC hospital in Jammu, a police official said, adding that all the victims were resident of Chhattisgarh.

A manhunt has been launched to track down the truck and the driver involved in the accident, the official added.
