Div Com reviews land acquisition process for Semi-Ring Road project

SRINAGAR, MAY 08: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir, Baseer Ahmad Khan, today directed the officials to expedite the land acquisition process for the construction of Srinagar semi-ring road so that execution of the prestigious project is started at an earliest.

The Div Com made these remarks at a meeting he chaired here today. DDC Srinagar, Chief Engineer R&B, Project Director NHAI, Assistant Commissioner Central, Deputy Director Planning, and Vice President RAMKY among other concerned were present in the meeting.

District Development Commissioners of Pulwama, Budgam, Baramulla, Bandipora and Ganderbal participated in the meeting via video conferencing.

The meeting was informed that the 42 km project with a cost of Rs. 939.41 crore will traverse through 52 villages and six districts and includes 279.93 kanals of land in Baramulla, 379.73 kanals in Pulwama, 4093.29 kanals in Budgam, 82.13 kanals in Ganderbal, 423.35 kanals in Srinagar and 181.83 kanals in Bandipora.

The Div Com directed the NHAI authorities to transfer pending amount to the respective Deputy Commissioners for onward disbursement among the people whose land has been acquired for the road.

Khan urged the officers of various departments to work in close coordination and re-double their efforts so that all lacunae areremoved before the foundation stone is laid on May 19, 2018.

He said the vital project will revolutionize the road connectivity between South and Central Kashmir and will greatly help in intra and inter-district transport.
