Speaking on the occasion the MLA said that government is very keen in developing Kokernag as one of the leading tourist destinations of the valley for which development of infrastructure is being prioritised.

He further added that additional 650 kanals of land are being developed near Botanical Garden to have more space available for the tourists. The MLA said that destinations like MarganTop, Sinthan Top, Daksum and Kokernag as a whole have a great potential to be developed as the world tourist resorts, which will create various job opportunities for the locals.

He also said that in near future night stay facilities for the tourists would also be made available so that flow of tourists will increase.

Later the MLA convened a meeting of the officers and reviewed development in various sectors of Kokernag constituency.

He stressed upon the officers to work with honesty and dedication and complete the construction of the ongoing works within the stipulated time period.

The meeting was attended by CEO KDA, BDOs of Block Sagam, Larnu and Kokernag, Executive Officer Municipal Committee Kokernag, SDPO Kokernag, and SHO Kokernag.
