Commissioner Secretary Agri for improving socio-economic condition of farmers

SRINAGAR, MAY 03: Commissioner Secretary, Agriculture Production Department M D Khan today chaired his maiden review meeting of Command Area Development Kashmir here at Lal Mandi.

In the meeting,  Commissioner stressed on the officers that projects should be executed with the objective to bridge the gap between the irrigation potential created and that of its utilization for efficient farm water management, to enhance agriculture production and productivity and thus to improve the socio-economic condition of the farmers.

Commissioner was briefed by the Director CAD Kashmir, Sona-Ullah Mir about the objectives and schemes undertaken by the department.

During the meeting, the Commissioner took a detailed review of components undertaken under CAD&WD (Command Area Development & water Development) Programme with regard to Kashmir Division.

For the smooth functioning of the department, Commissioner reviewed organization chart of the department and directed the officials to fill the vacant posts.

During meeting several issues confronting to the employees and the department were also raised.

Referring the CAD as the backbone for the agricultural production, the Commissioner asked the officials that physical aspects of the projects executed by the department will be discussed in the next meeting that is scheduled in next month.

Later Commissioner also visited renovated block of guest house cum meeting hall.

Director CAD, Kashmir, Sona-Ullah Mir, Dy Director CAD, Kashmir Syed Moin Peer, Assitant Director planning, Ali Mohammad, soil conservation assistants and other officials of the department were present in the meeting.
