Leh People welcome Shia Supreme leader’s representative

Leh: Shia Supreme leader and the leader of the Islamic revolution Ayatollah Syed Ali Khamenei’s representative Mehdi Mehdavipur today started two days visit to Leh on the invitation of Majlis e Ulema e Leh.

Representatives of Shia Organisations Majilis Ulema e Leh, Anjuman e Imamia, Imam Khomeini Memorial Trust Kargil, Anjuman e Jamita e Ulema Isna Ashariya Kargil, leading Sunni Organisation Anjuman e Moinul Islam, Ladakh Buddhist Association, Ladakh Gonpa Association and Chairman J&K Legislative Council, Haji Anayat Ali welcomed Mehdavipur with flowers at Kushak Bakula Rinpochey Airport.

Meanwhile, thousands of the followers gathered at Leh airport while as thousands of children welcomed his caravan on the way.

At Yoqma Chuchot, MP Ladakh Thupstan Chewang, MLA Leh Nawang Rigzin Jora also welcomed Shiekh Mehdi Mehdavipur.

At Imam Bargah Chuchot Yokma, a grand celebration was held on the occasion of the birth anniversary of Imam Mahdi (a.s) in which scholars from different religions spoke about the awaited Imam.

Aqae Mehdi Mehdavipur in his speech said that he is very happy to see the overwhelming welcome of the people Leh which indicates the religious tolerance, harmony and peace in this region.

He said, “The unity among different religious people here in Leh is admirable and I have no words to express my admiration.”
