Srinagar, April 30, 2018:  Paying tributes to Aaqib Wani, Sameer Tiger and a civilian, Shahid Ashraf who were killed in a gunfight with forces in Pulwama district, the Hurriyat Conference (G) general secretary Gh Nabi Sumji on Monday said that due to lingering Kashmir dispute, ‘our fourth generation is pushed to the wall and forced to take extreme steps.’

Blaming authorities for waging war against innocent civilians, Sumji in a statement said that forced occupation has turned the peaceful territory into slaughter house, where people are compelled to carry coffins of their youngsters.

Commenting on the ‘appalling’ situation, Sumji said, “The authorities in New Delhi should understand the ground situation as bullying and military might can’t suppress our sentiments or break our resolve.”

Sumji urged New Delhi to take steps for amicable and lasting resolution of Kashmir issue in accordance with UN resolutions.
