Srinagar, Apr 29: Militants targeted an Army patrol in Zainpora area of south Kashmir’s Shopian district today, a police official said.
No casualties were reported.
A patrol party of Army’s 34 Rashtriya Rifles was fired upon by militants at bus stop in Malikgund area, he said.
The official said the Army personnel retaliated, and there was a brief exchange of fire between the two sides, following which militants to fled from the spot.
He said a search operation has been launched to nab the militants.
