Multilingual poetic sessions conclude at Kargil

KARGIL, APRIL 26: – The 2 Day District Level Multilingual Mushaira sessions organized by Jammu and Kashmir Academy of Art, Culture and Languages, Kargil concluded at Language Centre here today.

Executive Councillor for Agriculture Muhammad Hussain was the chief guest on the occasion who in his speech appreciated Cultural Academy Kargil for having organized the two-day literary event.

The EC while appreciating the poets for their intellectual caliber urged upon them to make efforts to document their literary pursuits in the form of books so as to preserve them for the posterity in their true essence.

Meanwhile on the second day of the poetic sessions around 25 poets from across the district recited their fresh poetic renderings in Urdu, Balti, Purgi and Shina/Dardi languages which were highly applauded by the guests and the audiences alike.

The final poetic session held today was attended by the former Executive Councillor and Councillor Tai Suru Aga Syed Abbass Razvi, Assistant Commissioner Development Kargil Barkat Ali Lone Nizami, a number of officers from the civil and police administration, writers, poets, intellectuals, students. A large number of literary enthusiasts were also present on the occasion.

Pertinently around 60 poets from across the district participated in the poetic sessions mainly based on the onset of spring season and other related themes.
