Srinagar, Apr 26 : Militants disarmed policemen guarding a temple in Budgam district of central Kashmir and decamped with four service rifles during the preceding night, police said Thursday.

The militants barged into the police post, set up for guarding the temple at Goripora in Budgam, late last night and disarmed the cops posted there, a police official said.

He said the militants then decamped with four service rifles from the police post.

He said government forces cordoned off the area and launched a manhunt for the militants.

The official said a departmental inquiry has also been initiated into the incident.
