Twoes Janwara and Handwara Cricket Club win matches

Sopore, April 24: Match 1: In the ongoing ‘Sopore Super League’, Twoes Janwara defeated Kounsaria Bandipora by 2 wickets here at Seer sports field. Earlier Kounsaria Bandipora opted to bat first after winning the toss and posted decent 173 runs on board losing all wickets in 34.2 overs. Hilal and Pervaiz scored 31 runs each for Kounsaria Bandipora while as for ‘Twoes Janwara’, Shahnawaz and Nazir scalped 2 wickets each.

In reply, Twoes Janwara chased down the target in 29th over and lost 8 wickets in run chase. For Twoes Janwara, Azhar played a splendid match winning knock of 64 runs while as Pervaiz added useful 22 runs. Azhar was declared as player of the match for his splendid knock and the guest of honour for the match was Tariq Ahmad (Captain of Seer Sports).

Match 2:

In second match of the day, Handwara Cricket Club thrashed Amateur Sopore Cricket Club (ASCC) by huge margin of 122 runs. Batting first, Handwara Cricket Club (HCC) won the toss, opted to bat first and set a huge total of 267 runs on board in allotted 30 overs. Mansoor (58), Rasim (65), Irfan (45) remained the top-scorers for HCC.  In reply, (ASCC) were bundled out for 145 runs. Mudasir’s outstanding knock of 91 runs went in vain as none of the batsmen could pave into a much needed partnership, however Umar added 36. Yasir of HCC was declared as man of the match as he picked up 6 wickets.
