JAMMU, APRIL 17: All J&K Sanskrit teachers & scholars meet was held in Sanskrit PG Department of Jammu University today which was presided over by Principal Secretary, Higher Education, Dr Asgar Samoon.

Registrar, Jammu University, Meenakshi Kilam was the guest of honour while HoDs and faculty members were also present on the occasion.

On the occasion, luminaries and scholars of Sanskrit language & literature spoke and laid emphasis on preservation and promotion of Sanskrit language being the oldest classical link with rich heritage in vast spheres of knowledge, science and literature.

Dr Samoon highlighted endeavours of higher education department being implemented to preserve and promote various regional languages of the State. He also mentioned about publishing of quarterly research journal in Sanskrit language “VamagmayaGauram” by State higher education department.

The programme was first of its kind in the State which was hailed by all the scholars and luminaries in general and Sanskrit Scholars in particular.
