Srinagar, April 16: Divisional Commissioner Kashmir on Monday announced the opening of the Srinagar-Sonamarg-Gumri road and issued a formal notification in this regard.
According to the notification, subject to weather and road clearance; the light motor vehicles shall ply from both sides on a daily basis while as the heavy vehicles shall ply only one way on alternate days .
It said the vehicles from Drass will be allowed from 0500 hours and shall cross Sonamarg by 1100 hours and accordingly after the last vehicle crosses Sonamarg traffic will be allowed from 1100 hours till 1600 hours from Sonamarg towards Drass.
It said no vehicle shall be allowed to move either way after the cut-off timing.
