General Rawat has come full Circle on understanding mechanism to resolve Kashmir Dispute: Soz
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

April 16, 2018: While welcoming the statement of Indian Army Chief’s, former union minister Saifudin Soz on Monday said that the General (Mr. Rawat) has finally realized that bullets can never achieve any purpose in Kashmir.

“Many of the colleagues of the Indian Army chief and those who have retired including General D.S. Hooda had in unison suggested that a political dialogue alone would work for the Kashmir Issue,” Soz said in a statement.

He said that that General Rawat has adopted the right posture for a pragmatic advice to the Modi Govt and it is a welcome situation.

“Now, the further step for the General is to propose to the Govt. of India a unilateral and immediate ceasefire to open the way forward for a decisive political dialogue. The other step would be to respond to what his Pakistani counterpart General Bajwa is saying. Both the Generals seem to have gained an ‘equal wave length’, as for the Kashmir dispute is concerned,” Soz was quoted as saying in the statement.

“It seems that the dialogue process may open on the two axes – New Delhi –Islamabad axis and New Delhi – Srinagar/Jammu axis that would certainly be a heartening situation,” added the statement.
