BANDIPORA, APRIL 11: In order to redress the problems of affected families due to water spills from Kishenganga Power Project (KGPP) at Kralpora area, a meeting of the officers of NHPC was held here today with District Development Commissioner (DDC) Bandipora Khursheed Ahmad Sanai in chair.

The affected people who were also present in the meeting raised their problems mainly the water leakage problem besides employment and compensation issues.

The meeting was informed that in order to overcome water leakage problem, the tunnel will be drained out within next one week after which the treatment process will be started.

The DDC on the occasion directed the NHPC authorities to look into the matter regarding employment and compensation and ensure that all the commitments made with the people are fulfilled. He appealed people to co-operate with NHPC and assured them that their genuine grievances will be redressed as per the norms.

The DDC constituted a team from Revenue, Horticulture and Agriculture Department besides NHPC to make on the spot survey of the losses of fruit trees and other crops so that the compensation can be given to the affected people.

General Manager NHPC and chief engineer NHPC were present in the meeting.
