Schools, colleges closed till Wednesday

Srinagar, Apr 02: The government has decided to keep all schools and colleges in Kashmir Valley closed Tuesday as well.
A spokesman of the Education department said the schools and colleges will remain closed on Tuesday as well.
The decision has been taken as a “precautionary measure to avoid law and order situation” in the Valley.
The schools remained closed today in view of militant and civilian killings in south Kashmir’s Shopian district yesterday.
Meanwhile, Kashmir University has suspended class-work and postponed all examinations scheduled for Tuesday.
“In view of concerns expressed by students, all Kashmir University examinations scheduled to be held on April 03, 2018 (Tuesday) are postponed,” said a varsity spokesman.
He said fresh dates for the deferred examinations shall be notified separately.
The spokesman said that the class-work will also remain suspended in the teaching departments.
According to Dean, School of Education, the contractual lecturer interview in subject of Education, which was scheduled to be held at varsity’s Main Campus on April 03, 2018 (Tuesday), has also been postponed, said the spokesman, adding that fresh date shall be notified separately, later.
The authorities in Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) have also decided to suspend the class-work on Tuesday.
