Gang of burglars busted in Baramulla; four arrested

Srinagar, March 30: Police has busted a gang of burglars, that was active in some areas of Baramulla district from sometime, and arrested four persons.

A police spokesman, in a statement issued here said that during the past couple of months, Baramulla Police received many burglary and theft incident reports from Uri and the incidents had created fear psychosis among the people.

After tireless and intensive efforts of Police team lead by SDPO Uri Javid Ahmad and SHO Police Station Uri Tabrez Ahmad Khan, the whole gang was identified and arrested, the statement said.

The arrested persons were identified as Ahmad Jan alias Jana (gang leader) son of Ghulam Nabi Malik resident of Garkote Uri, Tanveer Ahmad Sofi son of Bashir Ahmad Sofi resident of Trikanjan, Ghulam Mohammad Malik son of Lal Din Malik resident of Garkote Uri and Bilal Ahmad Dar son of Ghulam Mohammad Dar resident of  Margipora Pattan.

The statement said that by arresting the gang, four cases of burglary/thefts of Police Station Uri (FIR No 6/2018, 8/2018, 22/2018 and 23/2017 under section 457, 380 RPC)  were solved and stolen property including golden Jewellery, Cash, Blankets and Copper utensils were recovered.

The receivers of this stolen property have also been arrested under section 411 RPC. The vehicle used for commission of crime has also been seized.

It is pertinent to mention here that all the burglary and theft cases of Uri Sub Division have been worked out and all the stolen  property has been recovered  in all the cases except one case for which efforts are on to nab the culprits and recover  stolen property, added the statement.
