Srinagar: Four gamblers were arrested from Awantipora area and stake money of Rs. 7,900 from recovered from the gambling spot.
A police spokesman, in a statement issued here today said that acting on an information, a police party of Police Station Khrew headed by SHO Khrew Javaid Ahmad raided a gambling site at village Sharshali Khrew and arrested four gamblers. Stake money of rupees 7900 and playing cards were recovered from the spot.
Case under relevant section of Gambling Act has been registered in Police Station Khrew and investigation was taken up.
