Legal aid clinic inaugurated at Khansaheb

BUDGAM, MARCH29: The Chairman District Legal Service Authority (DLSA), Budgam Rajeev Gupta today inaugurated a Legal Care and Support Centre at village Gurwait in Khansaheb Block of Budgam district.

Deputy Commissioner Budgam, Mohammad Harun Malik was also present on the occasion.

Chairman DLSA, who is also the District Principal, District and Session Judge Budgam Rajeev Gupta, said that the centre would function as legal aid clinic for the locals of Gurwait and adjoining areas and would provide them legal services at their door steps.

Chairman said the centre would cater to the needs of those seeking inexpensive legal aid. He said that the locals can seek help for their both legal as well as administration related issues at the centre.

Chairman DLSA said that concerned persons  would remain available  on shift bases at the centre for the hassle- free legal aid and services to locals.

He said that locals would also get help in understanding of legal services at the centre and get their problems resolved through it.

Besides, Chairman said DLSA would arrange services of a lawyer and other legal aid for the downtrodden and BPL category free of cost for resolving their issues.

Speaking on the occasion, DC Budgam Mohammad Harun Malik termed the establishment of legal aid clinic as major development for the area and said it would give fillip to the entire area on developmental front.

He said that the locals can keep check on all developmental works through the centre and make everyone accountable.

DC stressed on connecting the centre with e-governance for the online receipt and dispatch of applications.

DC announced that the centre would be equipped with a laptop and scanner for dispatching application through email for speedy redressal of the public grievances.

DC urged locals to cooperate and get maximum benefits of the legal aid centre.

Among others, Secretary, DLSA Budgam, Tabasum Qadir Parray, SDM Khansaheb Sammer Naik, ASP Budgam, Tehsidar Khansaheb, senior and junior members of Bar Association Budgam were also present on the occasion.
