Gurezi inspects works on Bandipora -Gurez road

SRINAGAR, MARCH 25: Deputy Speaker, Jammu and Kashmir Legislative Assembly, Nazir Ahmad Gurezi today instructed the BEACON authorities to explore the possibilities to reopen Bandipora-Gurez road by the end of this month.

The Deputy Speaker said that in view of pleasant weather and dry spell during this winter the higher reaches including Razdan Pass witnessed low snow fall and the snow clearance works need to be expedited   for making the road traffic worthy.

Gurezi inspected the road today and took stock of the progress of repairs necessitated on the road due to landslides and snow clearance.

District Development Commissioner, Bandipora and a team of Senior Officers BEACON and district administration Bandipora accompanied the Deputy Speaker during his visit.

The Deputy Speaker said Bandipora-Gurez road is only surface link which connects Gurez and Tulail tehsils with rest of the Country. He said the people of the area are facing tremendous problems due to closure of road during winter and stressed   on construction of Tunnel which will connect twin tehsils with the district headquarter throughout the year.
