Dorjay calls on FM; discusses issue of Special Duty Allowance for employees serving in Ladakh

JAMMU, MARCH 23 – Minister for Cooperatives and Ladakh Affairs, Chering Dorjay today called on Minister for Finance, Syed Mohammad Altaf Bukhari to discuss the issue of Special Duty Allowance to the employees working in Ladakh region announced in the Budget session earlier this year.

The Finance Minister assured the minister of necessary action in this regard  in a time bound manner as assured in the house.

Pertinent to mention that with a view to incentivize transfers and postings of government employees in remote areas, the government announced to put in place a Scheme which shall have rational framework of allowances and also have a built-in incentive for posting of employees in rural and remote areas, while dis-incentivizing ‘deployment’ in urban areas.
