Srinagar, Mar 22: Police today said it has arrested three timber smugglers and seized a vehicle laden with illegal timber from Handwara.
On a specific information, a police party of Police Post Zachaldara, Handwara seized a Sumo vehicle (JK09-0971), laden with illegal timber at Zachaldara. Three persons identified as Ghulam Rasool, son of Sheir Ahmad Khan; Mohammad Ramzan Lone, son of Abdul Gani Lone, and Mohammad Ashraf Rathi, son of Mir Mohammad, all residents of Yamlar Zachaldara, Handwara were arrested, a police spokesman said.
He said a case (FIR no. 77/2018) under section 379 RPC, 06 Forest Act was registered in Police Station Handwara and investigation was taken up.
