Safapora, SSC Sopore register victories

Sopore, March 21: The first match of the Wular Premier League was played between Safapora Blues and Adipora Cricket Club here at Sheikh-ul-Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo Sopore.  Bating first Safapora put a respectable total of 140 runs on the board for the loss of 8 wickets, wherein Nasir scored unbeaten 35 and Shahid added 32. For Adipora, Waseem took 3 wickets and Umar took 2 wickets.

In reply Aadipora fell short of 4 runs. Khazer Mohmad played a fiery knock of 34 runs and Ishfaq added 25 runs. For Safapora, Raja Rashid bagged 3 wickets while as Nasir and Shahid picked 2 wickets each. Nasir of Safapora who scored 35 runs and also took 2 wickets was declared as man of the match.

The second match of the day was played between Kandi Lions and SSC Sopore in which SSC thrashed Kandi Lions by 7 wickets in a one sided contest. Bating first Kandi Lions Scored 132 runs losing all wickets with Imran (27) and Muneeb (23) remaining the top scorers. For SSC Mehraj and Sameer took 3 wickets each.

In reply SSC Sopore suffered two early blows but later on Omair and Aamir took the charge and played the strokes at their will, winning the game for SSC Sopore.   Omair played a sensible knock of 50 runs and was declared man of the match while as Aamir contributed with handy 39 runs. The tournament is organized by Sports Association Tarzoo and is played at Sheikh-ul-Alam Sports Ground Tarzoo Sopore.
