Kohli, Mir Zahoor flag off poultry, dairy farmers to progressive States’ tour

SRINAGAR, MARCH 18: Minister for Animal, Sheep Husbandry and Fisheries, Abdul Ghani Kohli and Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Animal, Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries, Forest and Cooperatives Mir Zahoor Ahmad today flagged off a group of poultry and dairy farmers to progressive States of the Country for exposing them to modern scientific techniques required for increasing their dairy and poultry products.

Interacting with the farmers, the Minister Abdul Gani Kohli said that the Government is committed to upgrade the living standards of the farming community by way of familiarizing them to all expertise and techniques which will ensure increase of their productivity and intern increase their earnings. He said several welfare schemes are already in place to improve the socio-economic conditions of the farmers of the State.

Kohli expressed hope that the delegation will acquire techniques and experiences effectively so that on their return they will share the same with the other interested dairy and poultry rearers.

Mir Zahoor while interacting with the farmers stressed the need for arranging such tours in future also so that more and more individuals from farming sector can find chance to acquit themselves with all modern and scientific advancements emerging in the field of dairy and poultry so that these tours prove all time advantages to the interest of the farmers of the State. He also expressed hope that the experiences to be gained by the group during their tour will prove to advantages to the larger interests of poultry and dairy farmers of the State.

The participants of this tour were happy being part of this contingent and where thankful to the Department for arranging such tours beneficial to the cause of farmers.

Later, the Ministers convened a meeting with the officers of the Animal Husbandry Department and take stock of progress of various developmental works undertaken by the Department.

The Minister Abdul Gani Kohli directed the concerned to work with utmost dedication and ensure to utilize the available earmarked funds for the current fiscal in full and judiciously. He also asked them to ensure that the benefits of the welfare schemes reach to the farming community on ground.

Mir Zahoor called for organizing massive awareness campaign to educate the general masses about the Centrally Sponsored and State Sector schemes so that maximum lot to be benefited.

Director Animal Husbandry Kashmir, Mohammad Yousuf Chaproo, Director Sheep Husbandry Kashmir, Mohammad Ramzan and other Senior Officers of Animal Husbandry Department were present on the occasion.
