Kashmir Knights thrash Sopore Cricket Academy in a one-sided clash
FacebookTwitterWhatsapp

Baramulla, March 18: Kashmir Knights started off ‘Wular Premier League’ in style as they registered an emphatic win over Sopore Cricket Academy in the inaugural match of ‘Wular Premier League-2018’.  Sunday, here at Sheikh-ul-Alam Sports Stadium (Tarzoo) spectators had come in turnstile numbers to enjoy the “game of the spring”. Batting first after winning the toss, Kashmir Knights skipper Lateef lead from the front scoring sensible 60 runs while as John Muhammad and Waseem added 39 and 30 runs respectively as Kashmir Knights posted a mammoth total of 212 runs in allotted overs. For Sopore academy Faisal took 3 wickets while as Mansoor picked up a couple of wickets as well.

The chase for Sopore Academy became more uphill as they suffered two early blows which dented the chances of overcoming the jolt.  As a result of which Sopore Academy was bundled out for 104 runs. Kashmir Knights won by a huge margin of 108 runs. Umar and Tanveer from Sopore Academy showed some resistance adding 30 and 25 runs. For Kashmir Knights Rafiq Baba and Muzamil took 3 wickets each. However the spectators were disappointed as they witnessed a one-sided opening match in the mega league. Meanwhile Lateef from Kashmir Knights was adjudged as the match for his brilliant match-winning 60 runs. Omar Banday was the Chief Guest on the occasion.
