DDC Anantnag flags-off farmers’ exposure tour

ANANTNAG, MARCH 17: District Development Commissioner Anantnag, Mohammad Younis Malik today flagged-off a group of 30 progressive fish farmers of the district on a one-day exposure tour under Agricultural Technology Management Agency (ATMA) scheme.

During the tour, the farmers will be visiting different departmental and private fish ponds of the district, located at Nambal, Sakhras, Saller, Kathsoo, Wahan, Aamad and Akad. The purpose of the exposure tour is to acquaint the farmers about the first-hand experience and modern techniques of fish rearing.

On the occasion, the DDC interacted with the farmers and said that Fisheries Department is providing wherewithal and various benefits to make fish rearing profitable and sustainable.

On the occasion, Deputy Director Fisheries Anantnag Mohammad Ashraf Darzi said that department is providing all type of guidance and support to farmers to make them aware of various schemes guiding the sector.
