Budgam, Mar 15: Following the expose of salary scam, the team framed by the Directorate of Health Services Kashmir (DHSK) on Thursday visited the Block Medical Office Budgam and seized the office records.

“We have seized all the important documents from 2015 onwards,” the Chief Accounts Officer (COA), who was heading the five-member inspection team, told ‘Kashmir Images’. He said they have started probe into the alleged embezzlement.

Preliminary investigation reveals that the accused Senior Assistant had fraudulently transferred more than Rs 50 lakh into different accounts in Baramulla district.

“The (accused) used to transfer money into five bank accounts and has now remitted around Rs 23 lakh,” an enquiry team member said.

Pertinently, after this newspaper carried the report — “Salary of BMO Budgam employees vanishes in thin air” — the DHSK swung into action and started investigation.

The inspection team would submit detailed report in the DHSK office by March 31.

“We are directed by DHSK to submit report by the end of this month,” another member said.

He said that the five-member team would utilize their expertise and investigate every angle.

When asked who is involved, he replied, “Prior to proper investigation, I can’t say anything.”

Meanwhile, sources alleged that “there is nexus between accused senior assistant and few other influential officials in the Block Medical Office”.

They said, “he (accused) can’t embezzle huge funds without the help of other officials.”
