Horticulture Department organizes farmers training tour

JAMMU, MARCH 13: Horticulture Department Jammu today organized a four days Farmers Training Tour outside the state.

Thirty farmers from different horticulture zones of Jammu district participated in this tour.

During this tour the farmers will visit latest high-tech orchards of Punjab state and interact with the progressive farmers of that state. The farmers will also attend Training camp / VichaarGoshtis at Punjab Agriculture University Ludhiana in which experts of the university shall also deliver guest lectures. These farmers will also attend the Kissanmela being organized by KVK   Gurdasspur on March 14, 2018. This tour has been organized under MIDH and ATMA schemes. Director Horticulture Jammu Smt. Anuradha Gupta and S. Kirten Singh, Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu flagged-off the tour in presence of Ashwani Sharma, District level SMS Pomology and other officers of the department.

Earlier, Director Horticulture Jammu and Chief Horticulture Officer Jammu impressed upon the farmers to take full benefit of this training programme keenly learn the new horticulture techniques and act as ambassadors for fellow farmers of their areas and wished that this tour programme shall prove as a grand success.
