Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar inaugurates Legal Aid Clinics at GCW Parade, KC Law College

JAMMU, MARCH 12: Executive Chairman, J&K SLSA Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar today inaugurated the Legal Aid Clinics opened at Government College for Women, Parade and K. C Law College, Jammu.

Chairman, DLSA (Pr. District and Sessions Judge) Jammu, Vinod Chatterji Koul, Member Secretary J&K SLSA, R. N. Wattal, Principals of the respective colleges along with Zonal Director, Narcotics Control Bureau, Manoj Kumar, SSP Jammu and Dy. Excise Commissioner (Executive) were also present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar impressed upon the objective of Legal Aid Clinics and on the importance of participation by students at college level for their empowerment besides encouraging them to make others also aware of their legal rights and duties.

On the occasion, a campaign “Student Movement to Eradicate Drugs and Liquor Abuse” was also initiated by SLSA. The students of the colleges were called upon to associate with the campaign to boost legal literacy and access to justice for all.

A Model Legal Literacy Club was also inaugurated by Justice Ramalingam Sudhakar at Government Girls Higher Secondary School Mubarak Mandi, Jammu with the objective of carrying the message of Legal Awareness and empowerment vis-à-vis rights and duties.

Many children enrolled as members of the club to take up the topics as per the NALSA guidelines, 2018 for effectively ensuring that marginalized sections of the society have an access to Justice.
