DG Prisons, former DGP meet Governor

JAMMU, MARCH 12: Dilbag Singh, DG Prisons, called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.

Singh briefed the Governor about his recent visits to various jails to review their functioning and the adequacy of the obtaining security arrangements. He also discussed issues relating to the adequacy of the number and existing capacity of the jails and the gaps in their day to day administration. He also informed about prisoners welfare programmes being run in the jails.

Governor stressed the importance of effectively ensuring the security arrangements in the jails, which must be run strictly as per prescriptions in the Jail Manual, adequate medical arrangements and the welfare of the prisoners being assured.

M.M. Khajuria, former DGP called on Governor N.N. Vohra at the Raj Bhavan here today.

Khajuria shared with Governor his views about the need for effective law and order management and maintenance of communal harmony and peace in the State.  He also informed the Governor about the rationale of his recently published monograph “Concept and Contours of Regional Autonomy”, which delineates an approach to resolve issues relating to J&K.

Governor appreciated Khajuria’s endeavours and urged him to continue serving the people and society in every manner.
