Srinagar, Mar 05: Syed Ali Geelani, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and Mohammad Yasin Malik Monday called for a march to Shopian on Wednesday (March 07), for a congregational condolence of persons killed in army firing.

In a statement issued here, they said already a protest strike call has been given for the same day against shifting of Kashmiri inmates especially those facing life imprisonment and under-trials from Srinagar Central jail to Jammu jails and “inflicting harm to them”.

“Leaders and activists and constituents along with people will march towards Shopian to pay homage to innocent martyrs,” the statement said.

Terming yesterday’s Shopian killings as “another example of brutal Indian aggression”,  the separatist trio in a joint statement said that “forces and police are deployed to kill Kashmiris, and pro-India politicians and political parties especially RSS-backed Mehbooba regime is deployed to provide a legal cover to these killers.”

“Pro-India politicians and rulers are directly responsible for these massacres and will have to answer for their crimes in accordance with the law of retribution,” they said.

“Shopian killings by forces has once again demonstrated the brutal face of Indian democracy in Kashmir,” they said.

“RSS-backed PDP regime along with all pro-India politicians and political parties are directly responsible for this massacre,” they said.
