Mir Zahoor for vibrant cooperative movement

JAMMU, FEBRUARY 21: Minister of State for PHE, Irrigation & Flood Control, Cooperative, Mir Zahoor Ahmad called for collective efforts by all stakeholders to make cooperative movement a vibrant vocation in the state.

“This will ensure employment generation for state’s skilled and unskilled youth thus giving a further fillip to state’s economic profile”, the Minister maintained.

The Minister said this while interacting with the representatives of Jammu Women Credit Cooperative Limited who met him here today to apprise him of the problems being faced by them in running their branches and related issues.

Highlighting the importance of cooperative movement, the Minister said that the sector has a huge potential and asked the field and cooperative agencies to make collective efforts for revival of the movement. He added that hard work, honesty and sincerity should be the hallmark for everyone to make the Business Units of the Cooperative vibrant entities.

Responding to the demands put forth by the JWCCL, Mir Zahoor said that the present government headed by the Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti is committed for expansion of cooperative movement in the State. He said that the Cooperative Department has already been instructed to prepare a comprehensive project in this regard.

The Minister exhorted upon the people to be active participants of this movement so that more and more employment avenues are generated in the State.

Register Cooperative, Peerzada Mushtaq Ahmad, who was also present on the occasion, briefed the Minister about the functioning of Jammu Women Credit Cooperative Limited.
