Floriculture Deptt holds training programme for farmers

KUPWARA, FEBRUARY 20: The 5-day long awareness- cum -training workshop was conducted by the Department of Floriculture for farming community at Environmental Hall Handwara.

The Additional Deputy Commissioner, Handwara Peer Muzaffar Ahmad impressed upon the organizers to aware the farming community about the latest techniques of farming, inputs and other tactics as per the guidelines of the department.

Overall 500 progressive farmers of different areas of Handwara tehsil participated in the programme and listened to experts about the floriculture activities for improving the socio-economic condition of the farming community.

An interaction session was also conducted in which the farmers raised questions to experts of different departments engaged for the purpose.

Deputy Director, Floriculture, district and tehsil level officers, field functionaries of Agriculture, Horticulture and its allied sectoral dignities were present at the programme.
