AD Enforcement seals 3 shops for violation of Essential Commodities Act

Rs 240400 fine collected from 355 erring traders

SRINAGAR: The Enforcement squad of the FCS&CA Department headed by the Assistant Director of Enforcement launched a massive drive within the vicinity of Srinagar City during the current month amid complaints pouring in from various corners.

During the action, 355 erring traders were penalized with a sum of Rs 240400 in District Srinagar.

Besides, three mutton shops have been sealed for violation of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955.

It is pertinent to mention here that during the current financial year in the entire valley, an amount of Rs 11019280 has been collected as a fine from 23730 erring traders. Besides, 401 establishments have been sealed, and police complaints against 22 defaulters lodged for violation of the set norms.

“The erring lot has been reprimanded to remain careful in the future. The drive will continue in the same passion in future as well & whosoever found violating the norms will be brought to justice,” said AD Enforcement.
