Seminar on ‘G20 Youth 20 Talks: Voices for a Better Tomorrow’ held at MAM College

JAMMU: Maulana Azad Memorial College Jammu held a one-day seminar on “G20 Youth 20 (Y20) Talks: Voices for Better Tomorrow” with the Indian Science Congress Association (ISCA) Jammu Chapter. 

The seminar was about “Science and Technology for a Sustainable Way of Life”. The topic is one of the five themes of this year’s G20 summit.

Principal of the college, Prof Dr GS Rakwal was the chief guest while the Dean Research Cluster University of Jammu, Prof Ranvijay Singh was the guest of honor.

At the commencement of the seminar, the Head of the Department of Electronics, Dr Vishal Sharma emphasised the significance of the seminar’s theme and articulated their conviction that the role of youth in promoting a sustainable way of life within the context of G20 is paramount. The ultimate goal of this seminar is to empower youth and raise awareness about the Y20 summit and its objectives.

Prof Ranvijay Singh spoke about the mission and vision of the Indian Science Congress Association which is working tirelessly to create scientific temper among young generations.

The event featured an impressive roster of ten student speakers who shared their perspectives and insights on a range of issues such as climate change, unemployment, waste management, skill development, space research, conservation of natural resources, entrepreneurship, and innovation. All speakers were awarded medals in recognition of their contributions.

Three students namely Anant Maini, Jafer Pazeer, and Neha received 1st, 2nd, and 3rd prize respectively, and received mementos along with the medals.

Prof GS Rakwal commended the students for their participation and recognised their energy and potential to contribute to sustainable and inclusive growth and to build a better future. He also encouraged the organisers to continue hosting such events in the future to empower youth and celebrate India’s G20 presidency.

The event was judged by Prof Banpreet Kour, Prof Karan Singh, and Prof Inderjeet Kour. A vote of thanks was delivered by Prof Satinder Juneja. Faculty members and students of the college were in attendance.
