Qazi Yasir’s ‘illegal’ shopping complex demolished in Anantnag

Anantnag: The district administration Anantnag demolished an ‘illegal’ shopping complex of Hurriyat leader and former Mirwaiz of south Kashmir, Qazi Yasir on Thursday morning, an official said.

Quoting an official, news agency KNO reported that Qazi Yasir had illegally raised the shopping complex on the State land near a stadium in Anantnag.

He said portions of the complex have been demolished and shops have been sealed.

“The shops will be handed over to the Municipal Council Anantnag,” he said.

Meanwhile Revenue officials of Tehsil Qazigund today retrieved encroached land from the kin of former forest minister and senior NC leader, Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah.

Officials said that the land, measuring 1 Kanal and 18 Marlas, is registered as Kahcharai in Estate Kurigam of Tehsil Qazigund. They said that this land was encroached by a kin of senior NC leader and ex-minister Peerzada Ghulam Ahmad Shah.

The said piece of land, valuing more than Rs 1 crore, had been illegally encroached upon and is one of the many such patches of land retrieved from clutches of influential land-grabbers.
