Valley youth visit JAK LI REGT Centre

Srinagar: 15 youths along with two mentors from districts of Anantnag, Pulwama, Badgam, Kulgam, Chandoora, Shopian, and Srinagar visited the Jammu and Kashmir Light Infantry Regimental Centre on an educational & motivational excursion as a part of reach out activity on behalf of Chinar Corps. 

According to PRO (Defence) Srinagar, the visit started with a movie on the history and background of the Regiment followed by a visit to the drill ground and training area, where young boys of the Regiment turn into soldiers. “The youth also visited the Maqbool Sherwani Museum showcasing the history of J&K and the Hall of Fame, which houses the memoirs and brave stories of the fallen heroes from the Regiment.” 

“The youth paid their tribute to the brave hearts of the Regiment at the War Memorial. Finally, they visited the MMGG (Mandir, Masjid, Gurudwara & Gompa) which exemplifies the cultural & religious harmony of the JAK LI Regiment and the Indian Army,” the PRO said.

“The visit also included the interaction of youth with Officers and men of the Regiment to educate and motivate them towards better career avenues in the Armed Forces,” he said.

“During the said interaction, officers of the Centre appreciated their motivation and advised them to aspire to noble fields and contribute towards Nation building. The visit concluded with a sumptuous lunch and a group photo with Officers and School Mentors,” he added.
