2 drug-peddlers held in Baramulla

Srinagar: Police on Sunday said it has arrested two-drug peddlers in Baramulla and recovered contraband substances from their possession.

A police party intercepted a suspicious person in Palhalan area and recovered 104 grams of ‘Charas’ (cannabis) and 1.8 kgs of Charas powder-like substance from his possession.

Identified as Bakhtiyar Ahmad Bhat, son of Mohammad Sultan Bhat of Buchoo Palhallan, the person was arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody, police said.

A police party during naka checking at Mohura Uri intercepted a suspicious person and recovered 104 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. He has been identified as Raja Tanvir, son of Raja Hassan, resident of Mohura Uri, police said adding the person has been arrested and shifted to the police station where he remains in custody.

Accordingly, cases under relevant sections of the law have been registered in respective Police Stations and further investigation has been initiated.
