RAJOURI: Apni Party Vice President and Former Cabinet Minister, Choudhary Zulfkar Ali has demanded fast-track and transparent recruitment of all the vacant posts in J&K Govt and defreezing of the teachers’ post in the Education Department.

Expressing his serious concern over the growing unemployment, the Former Cabinet Minister said that the unemployed youth are worried about their future in absence of employment opportunities in the Govt sector.

“For the last several years, the recruitments have not happened. Even if some recruitment were conducted, they turned out to be a major scam and therefore, the recruitments for JKPSI, and others were canceled and an investigation was handed over to the CBI to probe the allegations,” he said.

He welcomed the decision of the Govt to order a probe into the recruitment of JKSSB for irregularities in changing the terms and conditions of the tenders.

“The culprits must be booked and punished but at the same time the Govt should frame a policy to ensure recruitment on all the vacant posts on a fast track basis in all the Govt departments which are lakhs,” he added.

“J&K has very less opportunity in the private sector especially due to inflation and the educated youth are dependent upon the Govt jobs which have turned into scams,” he said.

He said that the earlier Govts had introduced a system for the recruitment process to ensure transparency but it appears that the system has collapsed and it has developed loopholes leading to scams and unfair selection in the Govt jobs.

In absence of employment opportunities in J&K, he said that the youth have become frustrated and educated youth have become overaged due to poor changes in their recruitment which is not a good sign for the future.

“As the future is uncertain, the youth are on the roads seeking an investigation in recruitments and demanding recruitments and the Govt must hear their concern and hold the recruitment by advertising all the vacant posts in a transparent manner,” he added.

He said that the recruitment in JKP and other security forces has also not been conducted and it has put the future of the youth in doubt who want to join the defense forces.

He also raised serious concerns over the freezing of recruitment in the Education Department which has deprived unemployed educated youth of the jobs for which they aspire. He demanded that the freezed jobs in the Education Department should be de-freezed with immediate effect in the interest of the unemployed in J&K.

He said that the growing unemployment has given rise to many social evils and “We shall work to protect the future of the educated and young generation irrespective of any kind of differences,” he added.
