Dr Roshan Ara is new Coordinator CWSR KU

Srinagar: Dr Roshan Ara, Assistant Professor (Research), has taken over as the new Coordinator of the Centre for Women Studies and Research (CWSR), University of Kashmir.

A recipient of many awards for her contribution to the education sector, women empowerment, and voluntary service, Dr Ara received the National Best Teacher Award from the President of India in 2012, India Inspirational Woman Award, the Himalayan Welfare Award, and Award of Appreciation from US0-based Education Trust, FFE.

Prior to joining the University of Kashmir, Dr Ara served the J&K Department of Education for more than two decades. Holding a Ph.D. in Work-Life Balance and Master’s Degrees in Economics, Commerce, and Women’s Studies, she has authored three books and contributed over 30 papers to books and journals.

As a part of Indian women’s delegations, Dr Ara has lectured at Moscow, Geneva, and South Korea.

She is associated with various voluntary and community service organisations.
