Home Minister listened to our woes, assured all possible help: KVFGDU
Srinagar: Kashmir Valley Fruit Growers cum Dealers Union (KVFGDU) president, Bashir Ahmad on Wednesday said the Union Home Minister Amit Shah issued immediate directions to the authorities to update him about the highway issue confronting the apple traders.
He said besides the issue of unnecessary halting of fruit-laden trucks along the Srinagar-Jammu national highway, the KVFGDU delegation which met the Home Minister at Raj Bhawan here last evening also discussed other issues including tax and loan waivers, and GST exemption during the meeting.
He said the HM gave patient hearing to them and assured that the Center would consider their genuine demands on a priority.
“We are grateful to the home minister who gave patient hearing to our issues and assured that they would consider our genuine demands. We also brought into his notice the issue of halting of fruit-laden trucks along the highway which led to the loss of approximately 1500 crore rupees,” he said adding the Shah issued immediate directions to the authorities to update him about the issue.
