J&K reports 152 fresh Covid cases

Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir logged 152 fresh positive cases of novel coronavirus (COVID-19) in the last 24 hours which pushed the cumulative infection tally to 4,77,456, officials informed Sunday.

They said 124 fresh cases were reported from Kashmir valley and 28 from the Jammu division.

Providing district-wise breakup for these positive cases, the officials informed that in Kashmir division, Srinagar district reported 49 cases, Baramulla reported 24 cases, Budgam 16 cases, Ganderbal reported 12 cases, Kupwara and Kulgam reported six cases each, Pulwama and Anantnag four cases each, Bandipora reported two cases, and Shopian reported one fresh case today.

Similarly in Jammu division, Jammu district reported 15 cases, Samba six, Kishtwar three cases, Udhampur and Doda reported two cases each while no other district reported any fresh case today.

Moreover, 294 more COVID-19 patients were discharged from various hospitals, including 271 from Kashmir and 23 from Jammu division, in the last 24 hours after their recuperation, they said, adding that cumulatively so far 4,71,125 persons have recovered after contracting the infection.

The disease has claimed 4,782 lives in J&K – 2,432 in Kashmir and 2,350 in Jammu division.

Currently there are 1,549 active positive cases of the disease in the UT, including 1,223 in Kashmir and 326 in Jammu division, officials informed.

They also informed that 6,429 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours across Jammu and Kashmir bringing the cumulative number of doses administered till date to 2,42,46,916.
