Accused terror financer, deported from UAE, arrested at IGI Airport Delhi

Srinagar: An accused terror financer, deported by the government of United Arab Emirates (UAE), was arrested by police at IGI Airport New Delhi today.

A police spokesman, in a statement said that the State Investigation Agency (SIA)/CID CI Jammu arrested an accused, Farooq Ahmed Naikoo @ Farooq Tendulkar @ Umar S/O Ghulam Hassan Naikoo R/O Mohalla Khawaja Sahib Barmulla, J&K from IGI Airport, New Delhi as he reached there from UAE.

The accused, police said, is involved in case FIR No. 73/2022 of P/S Gandhi Nagar Jammu (now under investigation with State Investigation Agency, Jammu).

Police further said that in the instant case, Jatinder Singh @ Babu Singh (Ex-Minister) has already been arrested, who has obtained terror funds through one Mohd Sharief Shah of Kashmir for furthering the cause of separatism and for facilitating anti-India and Pro-Pak entities.

“This is the 1st case of its type wherein a terror financier has been arrested after deportation from United Arab Emirates (UAE), Dubai. The name of the accused has figured in various terror financing transactions during investigation of the instant case and further investigation regarding his role/involvement is being carried out by State Investigation Agency,” police said.
