J&K reports 7 new Covid cases
Srinagar: Jammu and Kashmir reported seven new Covid cases on Monday, taking the infection tally to 4,54,355, officials said.
Of the new cases, three were reported from Jammu and four from Kashmir, they said, adding Jammu district reported all three cases in the region while Srinagar district reported all four cases in Kashmir even as no other district across the Union Territory reported any fresh case.
Currently there are 90 active cases of COVID-19 in the Union Territory — 64 in Jammu division and 26 in Kashmir– while the number of recoveries has reached 4,49,513, officials said, adding that this number also includes five persons who were discharged from various hospital in the past 24 hours after their recuperation.
The COVID-19 death toll stands at 4,752 — 2,328 in Jammu division and 2,424 in Kashmir division – as no fresh fatality was reported in the last 24 hours.
There are 51 confirmed cases of mucormycosis (black fungus) in Jammu and Kashmir, they said.
On COVID vaccination, the daily media bulletin on novel coronavirus informed that 6,168 doses of COVID vaccine were administered in the last 24 hours bringing the cumulative number of doses administered across J&K to 2,31,45,822.
